Goblin Valley – 50K

So Ellen is climbing perfect limestone in France & Spain and our friend Alex is climbing incredible sandstone in Kentucky.  Meanwhile, Alex’s wife Magali, who can’t climb because of recent elbow surgery, has been training to run a 50K in Goblin Valley, Utah, and I’m sitting at home recovering from MY recent elbow surgery. Mag needs a support crew for her big race, and I get recruited at the last minute.  Now running a 50K is something – that’s for sure… but being Support – now that is something else – looking after the dogs during the race, picking up dropped items along the way (jackets, gloves, etc), trying to ensure the runner makes it to the start of the race on time (I failed here…) and just in general shouting words of encouragement as Mag runs by smiling. I’d never been to Goblin valley – it was beautiful – check out the photos to see why it’s called Goblin Valley.  Pretty cool.
