March 27th, 2012 | Comments Off on Harley

Today Ellen found a beautiful yellow lab wandering in the neighborhood – so she took her in to chill and try to find the owner.  No collar, but a city license tag.  She called the shelter and told them that she had found this dog.  Ellen said she was super well behaved, listened, new commands, was trained, and just wanted lots of love.  She walked around the neighborhood to see if she could find someone that owned her or knew where she belonged.  No luck.

I got home and we determined it was a dog from a few doors down.  I went over there that evening to return her, and to make a long story short – the family said they thought she was gone, and at the shelter, and they didn’t want her back.  I thought they were joking – but no.  Well I lose it – and start laying into the woman and her family and tell them that they don’t deserve this pup and that I should just take her – she said, “you can have her”.  So I walked away with “Harley”.  And though she truly is amazing, Ellen and I decided that we didn’t need another pup – so I sent an email to a bunch of friends, and within 5 minutes – she was spoken for about six times over.

Corey and Liz wanted a young dog, but not a pup – and this fit the bill.  They were leaving the next day for 2 weeks, so I said I would watch her until they got back.  Of course I fell in love with her, but luckily Corey sits 6 feet from me at work, so I see Harley every day – and also luckily – so does her ‘boyfriend’ Rumple.  They are incredible together.

March 24th, 2012 | Comments Off on Tingy’s Torture

G$ (Garrett Kemper) and I head to LCC for a great day climbing the extension to the ever popular Tingy’s Terror… Tingy’s Torture.  Garrett hiked it as usual, where I suffered with my jingus elbow and lack of granite skills – but we still had a blast.  Upon reaching the top, we saw a beauty mountain goat, just chilling out…  A great day on great rock with a good buddy that I don’t see enough.

March 22nd, 2012 | Comments Off on Olympus – again…

He’s a machine.  And what is so funny is that he charges the whole way up – then like clockwork, on the way down he finds a stick (usually quick long) to carry all the way back to the car.  It’s hilarious.

March 19th, 2012 | Comments Off on Olympus hike

Rumple is one fit pup.  No wonder – between Ellen running, our friends taking him running, and me constantly hiking with him – he’s a machine.  Here he is at the standard after work – “to the stream” on Olympus.

March 16th, 2012 | Comments Off on the newest BD pup

Brook – the newest BD pup.  I think she’s an English bulldog.  Her dad was over 120#, her mom over 90#.  She’s going to be BIG.  She sure is sweet.

March 11th, 2012 | Comments Off on American Fork with Ryan and Andy

As Ellen is down climbing hard routes in St. George, Andy, Ryan and I go flail on 5.10s at American Fork.  So nice to be climbing in the sun, with snow on the other side of the canyon.  No real photos.  Just the goons sitting around.

Andy and I blast for a quick standard circuit of Crescent-to-the-Coffin. It’s a standard before work mission, but with beautiful temps on a gorgeous Saturday, and lots of stuff to do at our respective homes, we decided for just a quick granite fix – soooo nice to be climbing on granite.

Poor Rumple – gets a bad cut on his pad.  But it heals quickly.  He’s tough…ok – he’s not…. but it still heals quickly and is back at it in no time.
