May 28th, 2012 | Comments Off on Memorial Day with Santa & Abby

It was tough to try to figure out what to do for the Memorial Day long weekend.  Ellen wants to climb, I can’t really – we want to bring Rumple, we’d like to see Santa and Abby and their two pups… the weather was a factor.  Finally at near to the last second we made the call to head to Redrocks near Las Vegas.

We ended up having a total blast – there was almost no one at the campground, we climbed a ton of easy fun routes, it was hot, but not toooo bad.  All in all we had a blast.  I took a ton of photos – here are a few.

Fresh off their tour to Sinks and Tensleep, Ellen and Abby were ready for two days at Maple.  Santa flew in, so we rallied the crew to head down for a fun weekend of climbing, hanging out and catching up.  Gpa, Garrett and even Belcourt and Tommy, Shannon, and their 3 week old, Sierra made it out.  Good times were had by all.

May 17th, 2012 | Comments Off on Ellen and Abby in Tensleep

Our friend Abby headed to SLC to hit the road with Ellen and Rumple for 10 days (May 9-17th) .  They headed to Lander and climbed a day at Sinks, then off to Tensleep in Wyoming.  Between the two of them, i think they took about 10 photos, granted, it is tough to shoot climbing photos with only two people.  They had an awesome trip.

Another beauty weekend, Ellen was off in Tensleep with Abby, so I headed to AF to climb a few easy pitches and take some photos with the gang: Garett, Matt, Gpa, Ferd, and Ferd’s new pup.  A great day with great friends.

Ellen and I decided to split up the weekend.  One day at Poptire so she could try this hard route she’s been trying, then one day back in Little Cottonwood.  So I decided to tag along and head out to the Poptire with Ellen.  We met up with a fun crew of friends (Neal, James, Kubiak, Mason, Wen, Terrace, Noah, Kevin, Tom Nay, and others).  I hauled my camera out there, set up a rope and took some shots of the folks climbing hard routes – and of course – lots of the dogs.

I’m not very good at editing my photos down – so here are a bunch.

May 6th, 2012 | Comments Off on the Thumb – bad attempt

After a great day at Poptire for Ellen, we decided to head back to LCC to try the Thumb.  I’d done it once before with Perky, but Ellen never had.  It’s super fun.  Unfortunately, it was crazy windy, kinda chilly, and we basically got off route on the first pitch (typical) – so we bailed – which ended up being fine and the right thing to do.
