Powder Park Tour
Two big dumps of snow this week, so the backcountry was a bit spicy. Ellen and I, along with Tom Nay and his friends Katie and Amy headed for a mellow day of great snow on some mellow slopes in Big Cottonwood.
President’s Day Tour
We had a beautiful Monday off of work so Ellen and I went for a quick tour up Little Cottonwood Canyon. The weather was perfect and snow was surprisingly good.
Happy US Thanksgiving – Deer Valley – Skiing on Grass
Well there hasn’t been any new snow for a while, but we decided to go check out an early season spot where we could take the pups touring with us. Let’s just say the dogs had a great day out.

First Day of the Season
It’s hard to believe Alta wasn’t open with the number of people there. It was truly insane. A good crew (I think our crew consisted of Adam, Ryan, Christian, Courtney, Jason, Christine, Jay, B-rad, Ari and me) met at B-rad’s for a quick breakfast and headed up – for what was the first tour for many of us – of the season. It was full-on winter up there, blustery and windy – but a few inches of medium density snow made the turns on the way down super fun. One lap was enough for most of us – my knee and elbow are still not 100% – so it was back home, and unloading the skis in the driveway in shorts and a sweatshirt. Crazy Utah weather.
